Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as an Overnight Awake Direct Support Professional, where you will provide vital care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism.. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment during overnight hours. You will be responsible for monitoring residents’ well-being, assisting with personal care needs, and managing overnight safety protocols. Your energetic and compassionate approach will help create a positive atmosphere that promotes independence and dignity for those we serve.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a vigilant overnight presence to ensure resident safety and well-being.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately.
- Handle light cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards within the care setting.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents, communicating effectively with emergency services when necessary.
- Document incidents, shift reports, and resident progress thoroughly to ensure continuity of care.
Experience
- Prior experience working in shared living, group homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities and autism.
- Experience taking vital signs accurately.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes is advantageous.
- Previous roles involving personal care home provide a strong foundation for success in this position.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record are preferred for transportation responsibilities.
