Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients’ skills, interests, and employment barriers, including those related to developmental disabilities, autism, or other disabilities.
- Develop individualized employment plans that align with clients’ goals and the needs of local employers.
- Provide coaching on job search strategies, interview preparation, resume writing, and workplace etiquette.
- Facilitate training sessions on workforce development topics such as social skills, addiction counseling basics, or disability awareness.
- Build strong relationships with community organizations, employers, and stakeholders to promote inclusive hiring practices.
- Support clients through case management activities including ongoing mentoring, follow-up support, and progress tracking.
- Assist with recruiting efforts by identifying suitable candidates for various workforce programs and conducting interviews when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of employment and labor laws relevant to workplace accommodations and disability rights.
- Background in social work, case management, teaching, or workforce development programs.
- Strong interviewing, mentoring, recruiting, and training skills with a positive and proactive approach.
- Familiarity with addiction counseling principles and supporting individuals facing substance use challenges is a plus.
- Experience working with underserved communities or diverse populations to promote equitable employment opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to motivate and empower clients toward independence.
