Financial Planning Assistant
POSITION TITLE: Client Service Associate
PT: Full time, minimum of 30 hours per week
Hours: 30-40/week
Position available in our Melville Office
Position Overview: A dynamic, growth-oriented, financial planning practice of Ameriprise Financial is seeking a full time Financial Planning Assistant. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.
Qualifications for the Financial Planning Assistant:
- Dependable, trustworthy, and have exceptional organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy, follow-up, leadership skills, strong project management abilities are also critical to meeting and exceeding expectations in this role
- It is imperative in this position, to have strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Exceptional time management skills, flexibility, and initiative will be necessary to succeed in this role
- An associate degree or higher
- 2+ years of similar work experience preferably in the financial services industry, and the desire to be part of a team and grow with the firm
- Must be motivated and determined
Responsibilities for the Financial Planning Assistant:
- Scheduling client appointments
- Calling prospective clients to set appointments
- Processing and tracking business paperwork
- Client service before, during, and after client appointments
- Resolving issues with home office
- Transaction execution
- Oversee compliance requirements
- Assist in preparation of financial plans, meeting prep materials
- Asset in trade modeling and complex paperwork/prep
- Providing operational leadership to support staff
- Help to coordinate and manage client service workflows
- Responding to ad hoc requests as needed
