Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections of sewn parachute assemblies and related textile products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, work instructions, military standards, FAA requirements (when applicable), and Paradigm quality requirements.
Reporting Relationship:
The Quality Inspector reports directly to the Quality Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed final inspections of completed parachute assemblies and related sewn products.
- Inspect stitch quality, seam integrity, thread, bartacks, material defects, hardware installation, orientation, and workmanship.
- Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, work instructions, and travelers.
- Perform dimensional inspections using appropriate measuring devices.
- Verify labels, markings, serial numbers, and documentation.
- Document inspection results and report nonconformances.
- Work with production to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain AS9100 quality records and support audits.
- Maintain a clean inspection area and follow safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year manufacturing quality inspection preferred.
- Experience with sewn textile or parachute products preferred.
- Ability to read drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
Qualifications:
- Visual inspection skills.
- Use of measuring tools.
- Basic math.
- Knowledge of AS9100 preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand/sit for extended periods.
- Lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Close visual acuity.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with textile production and moderate noise.
