Kirkwood United Methodist Children's Center is seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to meeting each child's social/emotional, physical and intellectual needs while supporting the mission and vision of the preschool.
The positions available are;
3/4's Teacher's Assistant with the working schedule of MWF from 8:45-11:45
Lunch Bunch Assistant with the working schedule of M, T, W, Th, F (any/or all those days) from 11:15-1:45.
About Our School:
KUMCC is a part-time preschool for children ages 2.5-5 years, that promotes joyful learning through play. Children are actively engaged in hands-on experiences while learning to work with others. KUMCC offers special opportunities throughout the week including music and movement classes, art in the Atelier, Spanish, STEAM-based opportunities, and an outdoor garden area.
Requirements:
* A degree in Early Childhood Education is encouraged, but not required.
*Experience working with young children.
*Applicants must send a resume and submit 3 references.
*Upon employment, a health examination, a TB test and HepA vaccinations, along with a background screening with the Family Care Safety Registry/MO Dept. of Health is required.
Expectations:
*Demonstrate understanding of preschool curriculum and expectations.
*Demonstrate knowledge of students, their needs and age-appropriate behaviors
*Create a kind and caring rapport with children while maintaining a positive classroom environment
*Possess effective behavior management techniques.
*Use clear communication skills with staff, parents and students
*Assist students with transition times.
*Assist with lunch, snack set up and clean up.
*Act in a professional matter.
Job Types: Temporary, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
