Job Summary:
The Electrical Field Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining overhead crane systems and related equipment at customer facilities. Working independently or as part of a team, this role diagnoses electrical and mechanical issues, performs repairs and preventative maintenance, conducts OSHA-compliant safety inspections, and ensures equipment operates safely and reliably.
Job Responsibilities:
- Electrical troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and modifying overhead crane systems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment at customer owned facilities such as steel mills, auto manufacturing plants, foundries, large machine builders and steel processing facilities.
- Work independently, or as part of a crew, to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems with equipment in heavy industrial manufacturing facilities.
- Identify needed parts, repair procedures, communicate with the customer, interface with our engineering department, and perform the repair.
- Responsible for documentation of hours, services performed, writing service acknowledgements, and working with computers.
- You will be trained to perform your duties in compliance with NFPA 70E Arc Flash Protection Requirements.
- Motor control experience on systems with AC or DC power is necessary.
- You will be trained to perform documented safety inspections on specific types of equipment in keeping with OSHA guidelines.
