About the role
As a Senior AWS Engineer , you will make an impact by designing and delivering cloud-native, AI-driven platforms using AWS services and agentic architectures. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with application, data, security, and platform teams to build scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.

In this role, you will:
Design and build scalable APIs and microservices using AWS Lambda, ECS, and EKS
Architect and implement end-to-end solutions leveraging AWS Bedrock AgentCore, including memory, observability, identity, and gateway components
Develop and integrate agentic workflows and AI-driven solutions across enterprise platforms
Integrate AWS Connect with backend systems and intelligent workflows to enable enhanced customer interaction capabilities
Build and manage infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK, while ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Jupiter, Florida . What you need to have to be considered
8+ years of experience
Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures
Proven experience building scalable APIs using AWS Lambda and container-based services (ECS and/or EKS)
Hands-on experience developing and implementing solutions using AWS Bedrock AgentCore
Experience designing and integrating MCP servers or similar agent orchestration frameworks
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
Demonstrated experience working in complex, multi-team enterprise environments
Experience integrating AWS Connect with backend systems or intelligent workflows
Exposure to AI/LLM-based platforms, agent orchestration, and observability frameworks
These will help you stand out
Experience integrating AWS Connect with Bedrock AgentCore-based agentic workflows
Experience with AWS Novasonic, particularly when integrated with AWS Connect
Background in spec-driven development practices
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Windsurf or SpecIt
Strong understanding of enterprise observability, security, and scalable system design principles
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
