Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their visit
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process transactions accurately
- Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with precision and integrity
- Assist customers with product information, including conducting product demos when needed
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure an inviting shopping environment
- Upsell related products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Support stocking and inventory management tasks to keep the sales floor well-stocked and appealing
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
- Ensure compliance with store policies on cash handling, security procedures, and safety protocols
Skills
- Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Prior retail sales experience, especially in grocery stores or similar environments, is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for team support roles
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking techniques, and retail math principles
- Familiarity with upselling strategies to maximize sales opportunities
- Professional phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries confidently
- Experience conducting product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
- Must be min. age of 21 for alcohol sales
