Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Residential Aide (RA) to provide high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients while ensuring their safety and well-being. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse needs.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Engage clients in social activities that promote mental stimulation and physical activity.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or developmental disabilities.
Skills
- First aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Experience in group home settings or assisted living facilities is highly desirable.
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in health or behavior.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality.
- Experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is a plus.
- Familiarity with meal preparation and dietary needs for seniors or individuals with disabilities.
- Proficient in patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment.
- Compassionate approach towards caregiving, particularly for individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities.
