The Billboard Installer is responsible for the installation, removal, and maintenance of outdoor advertising displays including bulletins, posters, and wallscapes. This is a hands-on, outdoor position that involves working at heights, operating company equipment, and traveling to sign locations across our market area. Installers represent the company in the field and are responsible for delivering clean, professional advertising displays on schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install and remove vinyl bulletin faces, poster panels, and other advertising copy on billboard structures
- Properly tension, align, and secure vinyl using bungees, ratchet straps, snap-lock rails, or other approved hardware
- Climb billboard structures, ladders, and catwalks; operate bucket trucks and aerial lift equipment safely
- Perform routine structure maintenance including lighting repair and replacement, panel repair, painting, trim work, and vegetation clearing
- Conduct field inspections and report structural, lighting, or safety issues to the Operations Manager
- Take and submit proof-of-performance photos documenting each completed installation
- Complete and turn in daily job orders, work tickets, and mileage and time records accurately
- Load, unload, inventory, and stage vinyl and materials; keep assigned truck stocked, organized, and clean
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report maintenance needs promptly
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and fall-protection procedures at all times
- Travel to out-of-town markets and stay overnight occasionally as job assignments require
- Assist with new structure construction, sign removals, and other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
- Ability to work at heights of 30 to 50+ feet without restriction — comfort working at elevation is essential
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Dependable attendance and willingness to work early mornings, occasional evenings, and weekends as needed
Preferred
- Prior experience in outdoor advertising, sign installation, construction, roofing, tower work, or a similar trade
- Class A or Class B CDL
- Aerial lift, fall protection, or OSHA 10/30 certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs
- Climb ladders and vertical structures; work from bucket trucks and catwalks
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
- Sustained exposure to heat, cold, wind, and sun
- Extended driving between job sites
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Starting pay: $18.00 per hour, with overtime paid at time-and-a-half over 40 hours
- Commission: Per-install commission available after 90 days of employment
