About the role
We are looking for two skilled, professional Bartenders to join our front-of-house team at an upscale Boston restaurant. You will be the face of our bar program — crafting classic and contemporary cocktails, providing exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining a spotless, well-stocked bar. This role begins approximately one month before our opening date.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cocktails, mocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages according to recipes and guest requests
- Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and inventory throughout each shift
- Verify guest age in compliance with Massachusetts liquor laws before serving alcohol
- Deliver engaging, attentive bar-side service that reflects our upscale dining standards
- Adhere to all Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) regulations and our establishment's liquor license requirements
- Collaborate with front-of-house team to ensure seamless guest experiences
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of bartending experience in an upscale restaurant or cocktail bar
- Proficiency in classic and contemporary cocktail preparation
- Professional appearance and strong English communication skills
- Must be 21 years of age or older (required to serve alcohol in Massachusetts)
Preferred
- TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
- Familiarity with our cocktail menu and seasonal ingredient-driven programs
Compensation & benefits
- $21–$28/hour base pay (above MA minimum wage of $15/hr; commensurate with experience)
- Tips on top of base pay — Boston bartenders average $225+ in tips per shift
- Tip pool among front-of-house service staff (compliant with MA tip pooling law)
- 30-minute paid meal break for shifts over 6 hours, per Massachusetts law
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
