Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Develop proven Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) programs by using customer-provided drawings, CAD models, using actual parts and company-developed information to facilitate program launches.
- Provide support to Quality Inspectors and production personnel during manufacturing and inspection of parts.
- Creates inspection tooling when necessary to support inspection of parts.
- Support inspectors when new programs are released and ensures programs run correctly.
- Understand GD&T and blueprint reading, pass on detailed information to inspectors when required.
- Troubleshoot CMM programs when errors in the inspection process occur.
- Maintain CMM programming schedules within Epicor (PDR=Priority dispatch Report)
- Responsible for CMM program document change control management.
- Provides CMM training to Inspectors and other machine operators in report analysis and CMM use/programming
- Support in-process inspection for internal manufacturing efforts
- Collaborate across departments to ensure that information and data are transferred effectively to meet customer needs and organizational objectives.
- Continuously improve procedures, processes, and methods to ensure zero escapes on all CMM inspections
- Appropriately identify and segregate nonconforming products and initiate a nonconforming material report per internal NCR procedures (in conjunction with inspectors)
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience programming CMMs, preferably in a machining environment.
- Ability to correctly use and interpret measuring tools including height gauge, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gauge blocks, thread gauges, comparative standards and other inspection tools.
- Experience using Zeiss CALYPSO or other CMM software/equipment
- Possess a sound basic understanding of models-based machining and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge and experience, specific to model-based inspection techniques
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of mechanical inspection in a manufacturing environment
- Experienced working with semiconductor-manufactured parts
- Ability to work well in a diverse team environment
- CMM programming certifications a plus
