Duties
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students with disabilities, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) to support their academic and social development
- Assist with classroom activities, lesson plans, and curriculum development across subjects such as literacy, math, and early childhood education
- Manage behavior and promote positive social interactions through effective behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor student progress and adapt support strategies accordingly
- Facilitate inclusive learning experiences for students with special education needs
- Ensure a safe, engaging environment
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, especially those with disabilities or special education needs
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and families
- Skilled in behavior management techniques to support positive student behaviors
- Familiarity with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), IEP processes, and classroom experience in private schools or early childhood programs
- Passion for fostering inclusive learning environments that promote literacy education, math skills, and overall childhood development
