Position Title: Residential Service Support Specialist
Location: Pittsburgh and surrounding service areas
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Position Summary
Home Not Alone Caregiver Services is seeking a dependable and organized Residential Service Support Specialist to provide transportation and operational support to our residential program serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position plays a vital role in ensuring individuals safely access community services, medical appointments, and recreational activities while supporting the daily logistical needs of our residential homes.
The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, enjoys driving, and is committed to providing excellent service while promoting the health, safety, and independence of the individuals we support.
Essential Responsibilities
Transportation Services
- Provide safe and reliable morning and afternoon transportation for individuals served.
- Transport individuals to and from medical, dental, therapy, psychiatric, and other healthcare appointments.
- Provide transportation for community outings, recreational activities, and scheduled events.
- Assist with transportation needs during evenings, weekends, and holidays when assigned.
- Ensure individuals are safely secured during transportation according to agency policy and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and mileage records as required.
Residential Support
- Complete grocery shopping for residential homes.
- Purchase and distribute household supplies and program materials.
- Support emergency transportation needs as directed by management.
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct routine vehicle safety inspections before operating a vehicle.
- Report maintenance concerns or accidents immediately.
- Follow all traffic laws and agency transportation policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of participant information.
- Provide courteous and respectful interactions with individuals, families, providers, and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must own and maintain a reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to pass required background clearances.
- Ability to safely assist individuals entering and exiting vehicles.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Experience providing transportation or delivery services.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry groceries, supplies, and equipment (up to 40 pounds).
- Ability to assist individuals with entering and exiting vehicles.
- Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and carrying.
Work Schedule
Regular Hours
- Monday–Friday (7:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
Additional Availability - This position may require occasional transportation assignments during evenings, weekends, or holidays to meet the needs of the individuals served.
Compensation
- $15.00 per hour
- Paid training.
- PTO.
