Job Description:
We are a family-owned equipment rental business looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as an Equipment Yard Hand. This position is a hands-on role that involves assisting customers, maintaining rental equipment, and helping keep our yard organized and operating smoothly.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working outdoors, has basic mechanical ability, takes pride in their work, and is willing to learn.
Responsibilities:
Assist customers with equipment rentals, including checking equipment in and out
Inspect rental equipment before and after use
Clean, wash, and prepare equipment for the next customer
Perform basic preventative maintenance including:
Greasing equipment
Checking fluids
Changing oil and filters
Basic servicing and upkeep
Identify and report equipment damage or repair needs
Load and unload equipment safely
Keep the equipment yard clean and organized
Pick up trash and maintain the property appearance
Perform basic yard maintenance including trimming weeds, mowing, and general cleanup
Assist with other daily tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Basic mechanical knowledge preferred, but willing to train the right person
Comfortable using hand tools and basic shop equipment
Ability to lift and move equipment or materials as needed
Good customer service skills and a positive attitude
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with tractors, trailers, small engines, or construction equipment is a plus
