Job Summary
The Resident Assistant Aide is a non-clinical support role responsible for helping residents maintain a clean and comfortable living environment and for assisting with daily activities that promote independence and quality of life. While this position does not provide hands-on personal care, it plays a key role in supporting Resident Assistants (RAs) by performing non-care-related duties and ensuring residents receive prompt attention for basic needs.
Duties
- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Provides assistance with:
· Assist residents in maintaining neat and orderly apartments/suites, including:
o Trash removal
o Bed making
o Light tidying and organizing
o Cleaning and sanitizing walkers, wheelchairs, and call pendants
o Restock supplies
· Respond promptly to resident call pendants and triage non-care-related needs
· Provide reminders and escort residents to and from:
o Meals
o Scheduled activities
o Community programs or events
· Reminders of, and escorts to, activities she/he might enjoy; outdoor walks; one on one personal attention; companionship; encouragement and assistance with exercise.
o Maintain a respectful and friendly demeanor with residents, families, and coworkers.
o Support the care team by communicating any concerns or changes observed in resident behavior or environment.
o Promote a safe, clean, and welcoming atmosphere throughout the community.
- Participate in in-service trainings and staff meetings as required
- Assist with seasonal community events or activities as assigned
- Collaborate with RAs and other departments to ensure seamless care and service
- Other duties as assigned by the Health Services Director or management team

Qualifications:
· Must be 16 years of age.
· Must be able to think, act, and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations. Must be self-motivated and function as an “in charge person.”
· Must be able to relate to residents and colleagues in a confidential, courteous, and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
· Must be flexible and able to work every other weekend.
· Must be able to follow written and oral directions and to communicate in English.
