There is opportunity to advance in further front of the house duties and compensation for the experienced and well qualified candidate. Our restaurant is a Greek and Italian style pizzeria, with baked pasta, appetizer and sandwich offerings housed in a historic former Carnegie Library located in downtown Eldora, Iowa.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a diverse selection of cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences
- Manage the bar area efficiently using our Touch Bistro POS system to process orders accurately and handle cash transactions with precision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food safety and food handling standards at all times
- Engage with guests proactively to enhance their experience through friendly service, beverage recommendations, and personalized attention
- Develop new beverage recipes and refine existing ones to keep our offerings fresh and exciting
- Monitor inventory levels regularly, restock supplies as needed, and assist with beverage recipe development to optimize bar operations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff during banquet events to ensure seamless service delivery in food and beverage offerings
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bartender in a full service restaurant setting, with strong cocktail experience and beverage recipe development skills
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Touch Bistro or similar system for efficient order processing and cash handling
- Demonstrated expertise in wine knowledge, craft cocktails, and food safety standards
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders swiftly while maintaining quality service
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Experience in bar management or supervising serving staff is a plus
- Basic math skills for retail math, cash handling, and food industry calculations; familiarity with banquet or catering service is advantageous
