Metropolis DON Need
Position: DON
Shift: Negotiable, generally 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; may rotate as needed – to facility – VERY RARE
Shifts per week: 5
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Guaranteed
Duration: 13 -26 weeks
Weekend requirements: Every other
On-call requirements: On-call schedule is typically set 30 days out; minimum weekend on-call rotation applies
Float requirements: Primarily one site only. May rarely be asked to assist at another building.
RTO restrictions: Flexible; follow-up survey needed
Scheduling accommodations/block scheduling: no
Orientation frequency: Weekly
DON Requirements
License: Active Illinois license
Education: BSN or ASN
Experience: candidate must have 2 years of DON experience, preferably in a LTC, SNF, or Assisted Living facility
Credential preference: RN
Certifications: BLS; IP (Infection Prevention) certification preferred
Specific skills needed: Survey experience, annual survey process experience, and strong leadership experience

Job Description:
As a Director of Nursing | DON | RN, you will be responsible for the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with orders of the physicians and the total needs of the residents. You will also be responsible for 24-hour supervision of Nursing Services and directing the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care. In the absence of the Administrator, you will assume responsibility for center operations.
