About the Position
Legacy Children’s Foundation is looking for motivated and dependable college students to join our team as Academic Coaches. Academic Coaches will work directly with middle and high school students in our after-school program, helping them build strong academic habits, improve their understanding of school subjects, and gain confidence in their ability to succeed.
This is a great opportunity for college students who enjoy working with youth, want to gain experience in education or mentoring, or simply want to make a positive difference in the lives of students in their community.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support to middle and high school students.
- Help students complete homework, assignments, and school projects.
- Support students in subjects such as math, reading, writing, science, and other areas as needed.
- Help students develop effective study habits, organization skills, and time-management strategies.
- Encourage students to take responsibility for their academics and stay on track with their schoolwork.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students.
- Monitor student progress and communicate academic concerns or successes with Legacy staff.
- Assist students with educational programs and learning activities.
- Create a positive, encouraging, and respectful after-school environment.
- Participate in activities, clubs, and other programming when needed.
- Serve as a positive role model for Legacy students.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university.
- Strong academic skills and willingness to help students learn.
- Comfortable working with middle and high school students.
- Patient, dependable, responsible, and encouraging.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently while also being part of a team.
- Previous tutoring, mentoring, coaching, childcare, or youth-work experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be available Monday–Thursday from approximately 4:00–6:00 PM.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
