Automotive Repair Technician – Level C
Position Summary
The Level C Automotive Repair Technician is an entry-level technician responsible for performing basic maintenance and repair tasks. This role focuses on developing foundational technical skills, following shop procedures, and supporting overall shop efficiency while progressing toward higher technician levels. Technician will have a basic foundation of proficiency in scheduled maintenance, brakes, heating and cooling, air-conditioning and electrical repair.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Basic Repairs
· Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, and fluid services.
· Basic proficiency with brake, suspension, and mechanical repairs
· Conduct multi-point inspections and digital vehicle inspections (DVI).
· Identify obvious safety concerns and report findings to management or service advisors.
Technical Support & Learning
· Assist B- and A-Level technicians with repairs and shop tasks.
· Learn proper diagnostic and repair procedures through hands-on experience and training.
· Participate in required training, certification programs, and safety meetings.
Quality, Safety & Shop Standards
· Follow all shop procedures, safety guidelines, and OSHA requirements.
· Properly handle tools, equipment, fluids, and hazardous materials.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
· Follow quality control procedures to ensure accurate and complete work.
Documentation & Systems
· Accurately document maintenance and inspection findings.
· Use shop management systems and digital inspection tools as directed.
· Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding work status and questions.
Required QualificationsEducation & Certifications
· High school diploma or equivalent (required).
· Enrollment in or completion of an automotive training program (preferred).
· Required, 2 current, ASE Certifications (A1-A8 recognized)
· State inspection license (if applicable) or willingness to obtain.
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Experience
· 1–3 years of automotive repair or maintenance experience.
· Prior lube tech, tire tech, or apprentice experience preferred.

Physical & Work Requirements

Compensation
· $18-$25 per clock hour
· Incentives from $5-$10 additional labor hour based on efficiency
· Occasional spiffs as designated by management
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
