Broad Summary
The ideal Digital Printer Operator will have experience working with large format digital printers, and be competent with all software including RIP software needed to run the machines.
Essential Duties
- Set up, operate and tend to digital printer in a safe and efficient manner
- Review electronic files prior to initiating print operation to ensure thoroughness and completeness
- Ensure proper quantities of supplies and materials such as inks, vinyl, etc. are on hand for assigned job prior to initiation
- Use software to manipulate the format of the print job to ensure dimensions align with substrate
- Communicate any areas of concern with Manager as needed to ensure quality processes are met
- Review and manage color application to ensure customer requirements and specifications are met
- Inspect and examine finished product to assure conformance to client specifications
- Regularly clean and maintain equipment/tools, as well as work area to assure a safe work environment
- Properly remove, dispose and store materials
- Work independently within a tight timelines
- Collaborate alongside colleagues and external consultants
Education / Experience / Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Attention to detail & keen eye for color
- Agility with computers and printers is a must. Understanding of digital file formats (ai, eps, pdf, tiff) and RIP software
- Fluent with tools and materials associated with the printing operations such as vinyl.
- Understanding of the digital print application and its effect on color application
