Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer their questions, and provide product information or demos when needed
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and merchandised
- Assist with upselling products and promoting store specials to maximize sales opportunities
- Support stock replenishment efforts by stocking shelves and organizing merchandise displays
- Uphold excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering customer inquiries remotely
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, to serve diverse customers effectively
- Demonstrated supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities within the team
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately during transactions
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stocking, and product demos is advantageous
