Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment by thoroughly washing and sanitizing.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Support line cooks by preparing ingredients and ensuring stations are stocked with necessary supplies for service.
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation standards are met at all times.
- Help with meal assembly and plating during busy service hours to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Maintain organized workstations and storage areas to promote efficiency and safety in the kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and food quality throughout every shift.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Basic knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation practices within a food service or restaurant setting.
- Experience with food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife skills is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a positive attitude toward supporting kitchen operations.
- Prior kitchen or food industry experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
