Job Description: The Sterling Long-Term Care Pharmacy Fill Technician facilitates the accurate filling of prescriptions. You will also undertake other tasks, under the direction of a pharmacist, to provide excellent customer service and ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly.

Accurately fill prescriptions by facility preference.

Prepackage medications.

Receive inventory from drug suppliers, verify quantity shipped against invoices and place in pharmacy stock.

Help maintain pharmacy inventory, remove outdated medications and process returns.

Affix system generated prescription label to drug packages; ensure correct lot and expiration date are noted.

Utilize best practices when filling and handling hazardous medications.

Help ensure appropriate paperwork and documentation is completed for billing of Medicaid and Medicare for DME.

Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and procedures.

Displays willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of our residents and pharmacy. (Willingness to adjust/trade or pick-up shifts when the need arises.)

Physical Requirements and Work Demands:

Requires the ability to work up to 40 hours per week and occasionally more.

Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including early morning, evening and weekend hours.

In a typical 8-hour day, the candidate can lift of carry items up to approximately 25 pounds and stand approximately 8 hours.
