Medical Training Specialist (LPN/RN)
A leading provider of residential and community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is seeking a Medical Training Specialist to join its team.
This position is responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting medical and health-related training programs for residential staff while promoting quality care, regulatory compliance, and positive outcomes for the individuals we serve.
Position Summary
The Medical Training Specialist serves as a clinical resource and trainer for direct support professionals and residential staff. This role combines nursing knowledge with staff development, coaching, and compliance oversight to ensure teams are equipped to provide safe, effective, and person-centered care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Deliver medical and health-related training to new and existing staff.
- Facilitate orientation and ongoing professional development programs.
- Provide coaching and support related to medication administration, documentation, and health and safety practices.
- Conduct visits to residential homes to assess training needs and reinforce best practices.
- Monitor training completion and maintain required documentation.
- Collaborate with operational leadership to identify performance gaps and develop training solutions.
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives and corrective action planning.
- Promote compliance with state regulations, agency policies, and industry standards.
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding medical procedures, health concerns, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Active Pennsylvania LPN or RN license required.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Previous experience conducting training, coaching, mentoring, or staff development activities strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of ODP regulations, residential services, medication administration, and quality management practices preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel to multiple residential locations.
