Join Westinghouse and turn complex LOCA scenarios into confident decisions that keep BWRs safe and efficient.
- Perform design‑basis LOCA analyses for BWR units using proprietary system codes.
- Translate plant drawings/specs into high‑fidelity models.
- Interrogate results, validate assumptions, and deliver audit‑ready documentation.
- Field plant‑specific inquiries on LOCA behavior from internal teams and customers.
- Track and apply plant licensing bases to ensure compliance.
- Apply and critique correlations for two‑phase flow and heat transfer.
- Quantify impacts of design or operating changes on safety analyses.
Reports to the Manager, BWR Safety & Analysis. Work remote within the U.S. or in a hybrid setup in Cranberry Township, PA.
- BS in Nuclear, Chemical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 4+ years in the nuclear sector.
- 4+ years of safety analysis experience.
Proficiency: Engineering Degree.
Estimated base pay: $85,200 to $106,500 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
