Responsibilities
- Safely bathe, dry, and groom dogs and other small animals according to established standards
- Handle animals with care, ensuring their comfort and safety during grooming procedures
- Assist with pet restraint techniques to facilitate grooming while minimizing stress
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, stations, and work areas
- Monitor pets’ behavior during grooming sessions and communicate any health or behavioral concerns to the team
- Support pet care activities such as brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat maintenance
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing pet owner questions and scheduling appointments efficiently
Requirements
- Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus
- Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of pet restraint methods
- Experience working with veterinary technicians or assistants is advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely (heavy lifting) when necessary for equipment or supplies
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and breeds, including those requiring special handling or care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
