Position Summary:
The Quality Control Technician (QC Tech) will ensure products being packed at the field and pack house levels meet the standards set by our company. They will assist the Farm Manager in the field to ensure fruit is being packed as per our specifications. They will observe and report to the Quality Assurance Supervisor any deviations from quality that may need to be adjusted.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Pre Harvest
- Ensures that all work performed by vineyard employees is compliant with safety practices and procedures.
- Ensures that work completed meets company quality standards.
- Ensures that all assigned vineyard crews receive and take all break and lunch periods per State and Federal law.
- Cycle count crews to ensure counts match quantity of employees turned in on a daily basis by contractor.
- Observe crews at the start and end of the workday for accuracy in clock in and out times and report any discrepancies.
- Scout fields for Pest, Disease, and irrigation issues.
- Assist with Inspection of vineyards to determine crop maturity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Harvest
- Inspect field packed product for quality and condition to a minimum of USDA Standards or company packed standards.
- Quality inspections consist of size, weight, brix, color, taste, decay, etc.
- Comply with Company policies while completing inspections – i.e., food safety, hygiene, PPE, clean as you go.
- Communicates daily findings with various internal stakeholders such as the Farm Manager, Quality Assurance supervisor, Labor supervisors to discuss quality/condition issues and/or product rejections.
- Provide detailed written reports of all inspected products, QA reports via company software systems.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Examine and inspect containers, materials, and fruit to ensure that packing specifications are met.
- Weighing and counting material to ensure weight specifications are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of table grape experience is preferred.
- Previous produce industry experience preferred.
- Ability to use an iPad or tablet to complete inspection reports.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, organized, analytical, and detail oriented.
- Valid California Driver’s License required.

- Ability to work on wet surfaces.
- Exposure to loud noises, dust, fumes, and/or chemicals.
- Work near moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic.
- Seasonal overtime, weekend work, and flexible schedules may be required based on business needs
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
