Job Summary:
AQUABILITI is a medical device company that produces pre-filled IV flush syringes and sterile water-based products. We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Controls Engineer to support the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of high-speed manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role is ideal for an experienced controls-focused technician or engineer who enjoys troubleshooting complex automated equipment, performing hands-on repairs, and implementing improvements that increase equipment uptime.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with industrial controls, PLC troubleshooting, HMIs, and automation systems with the ability to work directly on production equipment to diagnose issues and implement improvements. This individual will help maintain and optimize existing manufacturing equipment while supporting new equipment installations, upgrades, and vendor projects.
Mechanical and general electrical troubleshooting experience is beneficial, but the primary focus of this role is industrial controls, automation, and keeping complex manufacturing equipment operating reliably.
Essential Responsibilities/Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:
- Troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- Diagnose and resolve automation, controls, and equipment performance issues
- Modify and troubleshoot PLC logic, HMIs, VFDs, sensors and control systems
- Support equipment installations, startups, and upgrades
- Improve machine reliability, uptime, and production performance
- Work with equipment manufacturers, integrators, and outside vendors
- Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects
- Provide hands-on technical support to production and maintenance teams
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Strong experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation systems
- Experience with platforms such as Allen-Bradley
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems and industrial equipment
- Experience with HMIs, servo systems, VFDs sensors, and instrumentation
- Hands-on experience supporting high-speed manufacturing equipment
- Comfortable working with aging equipment while implementing upgrades and improvements
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Knowledge of FDA & ISO regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience with high speed filling automation
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks design
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on industrial controls experience will be considered.
- Experience modifying PLC programs and troubleshooting logic required.
- Strong computer skills required, with ability to quickly learn and utilize electronic QMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environment
- Strong communication across engineering, quality, and operations teams
Pay: $70,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
