SUMMARY:
The Electrical Technician Adjunct Instructor delivers consistent, high-quality instruction across multiple courses in the Dorsey College Electrical Technician Program, ensuring students develop the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed for a successful career in the electrical trade. Instructors plan and deliver engaging lectures and laboratory sessions, monitor student progress, collaborate with the Lead Instructor on program outcomes, and address student needs in a timely and professional manner. All instruction must align with Dorsey College policies, program requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Instructors are expected to be experienced in the electrical trade, dedicated to student success, and committed to a motivating, professional, and inclusive classroom environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two years of electrical trade experience or equivalent.
- Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience in a trade or educational setting preferred but not required.
- Relevant industry certifications such as OSHA 10/30, NCCER credentials, state/local electrical licensure, or Journeyman License preferred but not required.
- Must successfully pass a background check in accordance with Dorsey College policies
WORKING / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during classroom and laboratory instruction.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during online course facilitation and administrative tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work in confined spaces as required by course content.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate electrical tools, test equipment, and computer equipment.
- Ability to navigate and utilize Canvas LMS and other digital platforms required for instruction and recordkeeping.
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate clearly to deliver instruction and ensure lab safety.
- May be exposed to electrical equipment, noise, and varying temperatures in the lab environment.

Pay: $27.00 - $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 28 per week
