The research mission of the Infectious Diseases Division mission is to carry out cutting-edge scientific research into their causation, diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and cure. We seek to train the next generation of scientists in our field.
In many ways, the challenges for our field are unique in medicine. No other medical specialty faces a continual threat of new diseases, which are caused by emerging viruses and other microbes.
