Overview
O’Brien’s in Annapolis is seeking an experienced, organized, and high-energy Catering & Events Manager to lead and elevate our private events and off-site catering operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering flawless guest experiences, and can seamlessly manage everything from corporate lunches to large-scale private parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Execution: Oversee the successful execution of all on-site private events and off-site catering orders, ensuring high standards of service and presentation.
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on the day of their event, handling special requests and resolving any issues professionally and promptly.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and schedule banquet and catering staff, fostering a team-oriented mindset focused on top-tier hospitality.
- BOH Coordination: Collaborate closely with the kitchen staff to ensure accurate buffet/plated timing, menu compliance, and dietary restriction management.
- Logistics & Inventory: Manage catering equipment inventory, transportation logistics for off-site events, and ensure all banquet spaces are set up according to contract specifications.
- Business Growth: Assist with processing inquiries, booking events, and maximizing revenue through upselling food, beverage, and service packages.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering coordination, banquet management, or restaurant event supervision preferred.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage both staff and clients.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays based on event bookings.
- Knowledge of POS systems, event software, and standard catering logistics.
