Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, portioning ingredients, and assembling dishes following established recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including counters, floors, sinks, and storage spaces through regular cleaning routines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other small appliances.
- Support meal preparation by assisting culinary staff with ingredient prep and plating as needed.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination during all stages of food prep.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure timely delivery of prepared meals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued!
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation techniques, and cooking methods is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and proper food handling practices is essential.
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail in cleaning routines and food prep tasks.
