Job Title: Ambulance Director
Salary range: $83,000-$85,000
Department: Ambulance
Hours: Full-time (40 hours a week), non-exempt with limited overtime opportunities. Eligible for benefits.
Job Description:
The Ambulance Director handles the day-to-day, long-term, and strategic administration of the Sturgis Ambulance Service by coordinating personnel, supplies inventory, medical protocols and procedures, training, quality fleet maintenance, and inter-facility cooperation. This position manages the budget, oversees medical billing and coding and insurance reimbursement process.
Knowledge and skills required by the position:
- Knowledge of emergency medical service principles and practices.
- Knowledge of relevant local, state and federal laws.
- Knowledge of strategic planning processes.
- Skill in managing the procurement and maintenance of EMS supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
- Knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles.
- Knowledge of grant management principles.
- Knowledge of contract management principles.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Skill in management and supervision.
- Skill in problem solving.
- Skill in directing and participating in the provision of emergency medical care to patients.
- Skill in prioritizing and planning.
- Skill in interpersonal relations.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
Salary and benefits: $83,000 to $85,000 DOQE. Includes medical and dental insurance, participation in the South Dakota Retirement System, and an employment contract.
