Position Summary
The Intersect Group is seeking a Bankruptcy Customer Service Specialist to oversee a portfolio of secured consumer loans, including accounts involved in bankruptcy proceedings and collateral recovery activities. This role is critical to ensuring proper account administration, compliance with bankruptcy requirements, and protection of the organization's secured interests.
The Specialist III will monitor payment activity, prepare and process bankruptcy-related documentation, communicate with attorneys, trustees, and consumers, and ensure all account information is maintained accurately within internal systems. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer a portfolio of automobile-secured and other collateralized loan accounts.
- Prepare, process, and file proofs of claim, transfers of claim, reaffirmation agreements, and other bankruptcy-related documentation.
- Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of payment, contract, and account information within internal systems.
- Monitor bankruptcy plans and payment activity to ensure compliance and timely resolution of account issues.
- Communicate with attorneys, bankruptcy trustees, and consumers regarding account status, payments, and case developments.
- Research account information utilizing PACER, trustee websites, Phin Solutions, and internal systems.
- Review non-bankruptcy accounts and coordinate collateral repossession activities when necessary.
- Process plan objections, motions for relief from stay, discharge reviews, and lien release requirements as appropriate.
- Track critical deadlines and maintain detailed account records to ensure all required actions are completed timely.
- Support process improvement initiatives, documentation updates, and special projects as assigned.
Key Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in bankruptcy servicing, collections, loan servicing, consumer finance, or a related financial services environment.
- Bilingual Spanish/English communication skills are strongly preferred, with the ability to communicate professionally with consumers, attorneys, trustees, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience working with bankruptcy processes, secured lending, collections, claims filing, or account administration preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate multiple systems, databases, and internet-based research tools.
- Familiarity with PACER, trustee websites, bankruptcy documentation, and related industry platforms is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to review account activity, legal documents, and payment histories accurately.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Education
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- Relevant experience in bankruptcy servicing, collections, loan administration, or financial operations may be considered in lieu of formal education.
