Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams
- Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the living environment
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, ensuring a safe and comforting atmosphere
- Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports in accordance with privacy regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care plan implementation
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and experience with hospice or dementia care are advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when required
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed
