ForeSight Communications, LLC is a federal contractor providing program management, administrative support, training, and operational services to U.S. Government agencies. We are seeking an experienced Lead Defense Travel Administrator / Travel Clerk IV to oversee Defense Travel operations supporting a Department of Defense customer in Sumter, South Carolina.
This position is ideal for a highly organized professional with extensive Defense Travel System (DTS) experience and demonstrated leadership in military or federal travel administration.
Position Summary
The Lead Defense Travel Administrator serves as the senior travel subject matter expert responsible for managing daily travel operations, providing technical guidance to staff, ensuring compliance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and delivering exceptional customer service to military and civilian personnel.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead daily Defense Travel System (DTS) operations.
- Serve as the primary travel liaison between government personnel and travelers.
- Review, audit, and approve travel authorizations and vouchers for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)
- Defense Travel System policies
- DoD financial management guidance
- Research and resolve complex travel issues.
- Train and mentor travel administrators.
- Monitor workflow and ensure contractual performance standards are met.
- Prepare travel reports and metrics.
- Coordinate with Finance, Resource Management, and Government leadership.
- Maintain complete and accurate travel documentation.
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of Defense Travel System (DTS) experience
- Experience supporting DoD or federal travel programs
- Working knowledge of:
- DTS
- Joint Travel Regulations
- Government Travel Charge Card procedures
- Experience leading administrative or travel teams
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Former military or DoD civilian experience
- Defense Travel Administrator certification
- Experience supporting Air Force operations
- Experience working on federal service contracts
