Responsibilities
- Safely operate wheelchair accessible passenger vehicles, including passenger vans, shuttle buses, and medical transportation vans, following all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Assist clients with boarding, securing wheelchairs, and disembarking in a respectful and caring manner
- Navigate local driving routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely arrivals
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic maintenance checks to guarantee optimal operation
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service throughout the journey
- Adhere strictly to state transportation regulations and company policies related to passenger safety and vehicle operation
- Handle heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility devices or personal belongings, ensuring proper manual handling techniques are used
- Document trip details accurately, including client information, route logs, and incident reports as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or shuttle driver, with a strong understanding of local driving routes and GPS navigation tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating passenger vans or shuttle vehicles preferred
- Experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is a plus
- Knowledge of manual handling procedures for heavy lifting and client assistance
- Ability to adhere to traffic regulations and state transportation laws consistently
- Excellent communication skills for interacting professionally with clients and team members
- Strong customer service orientation with a compassionate approach toward clients requiring mobility assistance

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
