Job Summary
Independent family-owned supermarket with diverse clientele is seeking a skilled and dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least five years meat cutting experience, a passion for food production and a commitment to delivering high-quality meat products to our customers. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing various types of meat while ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Duties
- Cut, trim, and package a variety of meats according to specifications and customer requests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the meat preparation area to ensure food safety.
- Operate and maintain cutting tools and equipment, including knives and saws, with care.
- Assist customers by providing information about meat products and offering cooking tips.
- Monitor inventory levels of meat products and report any shortages or quality issues.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the department.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food production or culinary settings is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Proficient in meat cutting techniques with a solid understanding of various cuts of meat.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and best practices in food preparation.
- Must be able to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) as required.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 – 48 per week
