Purpose:
The Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components using various welding techniques. This role ensures that all welding work meets Company standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. The Welder will collaborate with Project Managers, supervisors, and other trades to complete projects efficiently and with high quality.
Responsibilities:
Welding & Fabrication – Performs TIG and Pulse MIG and other welding techniques on various metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine specifications, operates welding equipment, torches, plasma cutters, and grinders to complete fabrication and repairs.
Quality Control & Inspection – Conducts visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with quality and structural standards, performs non-destructive testing as required to verify integrity and strength, makes necessary corrections or repairs to deficient welds.
Safety & Compliance – Follows OSHA regulations and Company safety policies, including wearing appropriate PPE, maintains a clean and organized work area to minimize hazards, identifies, and mitigates potential safety risks in welding operations.
Equipment & Maintenance –Sets up and calibrates welding machines for specific jobs, performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting of welding tools and equipment, reports any equipment malfunctions or required repairs to management.
Collaboration & Communication –Works closely with Project Managers, engineers, and fellow welders to meet production deadlines, provides feedback on designs or materials to improve efficiency and quality, trains and mentors junior welders when needed.

Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of welding techniques, metallurgy, and blueprint reading.
Ability to work with various metals and thicknesses.
Knowledge of welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME, etc.)
Expertise in welding techniques (Pulse MIG, TIG, stick) and material joining.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and welding machinery.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and craftsmanship.
Basic mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations.
Physical stamina and manual dexterity for extended periods of hands-on work.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines with excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, bending, squatting, and reaching.
Exposure to noise, heat, sparks, metal, and fumes in a shop environment.
Must wear PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, etc.
Capacity to lift, carry or transport materials and equipment fifty (50) pounds or more, regularly.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related field.
Familiarity with fabrication machinery and equipment.
Proficiency in Pulse MIG, TIG and stick welding.
Experience with exotic metals or custom projects helpful.
Trade School Certification or formal apprenticeship in metal fabrication or welding, AWS (American Welding Society) certification, preferred.
