Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EMS Hiring Manager to lead our emergency medical services recruitment efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of emergency medical operations, critical care protocols, and hospital environments. As the EMS Hiring Manager, you will oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of qualified EMS personnel, ensuring that staffing levels meet operational demands while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans to attract qualified EMS professionals with critical care experience and hospital backgrounds.
- Oversee the screening, interviewing, and selection process for EMS personnel, ensuring candidates meet essential requirements such as EMT experience, airway management skills, and trauma center familiarity.
- Collaborate with hospital departments, trauma centers, and emergency rooms to understand staffing needs and align recruitment efforts accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards related to emergency medicine staffing, including certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and advanced airway management credentials.
- Coordinate ongoing training programs focused on patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, venipuncture, and aseptic techniques to maintain high competency levels among staff.
- Manage onboarding processes for new hires, including verifying credentials in physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, DME (Durable Medical Equipment) familiarity, and emergency medicine procedures.
- Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement in patient care delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience in emergency medical services or hospital settings with a focus on critical care transport or urgent care environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and emergency protocols relevant to Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate candidates’ skills in patient care procedures such as physical examinations, injection administration, vital signs assessment, and critical care interventions.
- Experience with driver licensing requirements for emergency vehicles and heavy lifting protocols necessary for transporting patients safely.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and potential candidates.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.
