Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper cleaning techniques and sanitizing procedures
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by adhering to food safety management and kitchen health and safety standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas remain tidy and welcoming
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly, including dishwashers, sinks, and other cleaning tools
- Follow manual handling protocols to lift heavy items safely and prevent injuries
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized workspace by performing routine sanitation tasks throughout shifts
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and operating kitchen equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively
- Basic knife skills or familiarity with food handling practices is a plus but not required
