Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Puppy Placement Specialist / Key Holder / Sales Associate, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help connect adorable puppies with loving families while supporting our retail operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine your passion for animals with retail management and sales, customer service, and team leadership. As a key member of our store, you’ll be instrumental in creating a welcoming environment, ensuring smooth daily operations, and fostering positive relationships with customers and staff alike. Your energy and proactive approach will drive success and make a meaningful impact in the lives of both puppies and people. This position is paid biweekly, on a $14.00 an hour base salary or a 6% commission, whichever is higher, depending on attendance, puppy and product sales performance.
Key Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
1. Puppy Placement
a. Match puppies with suitable and loving adoptive families.
b. Facilitate the adoption process, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
c. Offer payment options to customers and process transactions promptly.
2. Animal Husbandry:
a. Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of puppy kennels.
b. Perform daily shift operations related to animal care and hygiene.
c. Conduct mini grooming sessions and training sessions with the puppies.
d. Upon specific training and approval, administer medication when necessary and follow isolation procedures as required.
3. Customer Experience:
a. Create an unforgettable customer experience by providing knowledgeable and friendly assistance both n store and over the phone.
b. Educate customers on various dog breeds, pet store facts, and responsible pet ownership.
c. Store Maintenance.
4. Sales and Transactions:
a. Handle cash transactions and use of a cash register with accuracy and efficiency.
5. Inventory
a. Maintain an organized inventory of pet supplies and store-use items.
b. Monitor stock levels and communicate inventory needs to management.
6. Communication
a. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests with efficiency.
Physical Demands:
To perform this job, employees may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Regular requirements Include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, talking, and hearing. Occasional activities involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and or handling strong, natural pet odors. Must Have
- A flexible schedule
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
- AT least 2 years of server, retail, auto, real estate, or commission sales experience preferred
- Familiarity with POS technology preferred but not required
- Ability to handle cash transactions and financial procedures
- Retail math.
- Excellent communication skills paired with organizational abilities to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
- Reliable Transportation (not Uber)
