We serve the residents of Hamilton County in more ways than you may realize. As the Assistant Field Operations Superintendent for the Planning & Development Department at Hamilton County, you will be responsible for overseeing and actively participating in the daily operations of the field team. In this role, you will supervise the work of Equipment Operators and Mechanics, coordinate task assignments, provide training, review employee timesheets, and ensure the quality of projects. You will also interact with customers, address service complaints, and act as the primary liaison with external stakeholders. When the Field Operations Superintendent is unavailable, you will assume their duties to maintain seamless operations. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing equipment usage, monitoring project progress, enforcing quality standards, and managing equipment and material inventories.
Summary of Job Duties:
- Oversee daily activities of Field Operations personnel.
- Communicates with customers and investigate service complaints.
- Liaison between department and contractors.
- Work alongside the crew, operating hand tools, chainsaws, backhoes, dozers, trucks, and other equipment to perform field operations tasks.
- Determines equipment and material needs to complete work projects; maintains equipment and materials inventories
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school (or G.E.D.)
- 5 years’ experience as Equipment Operator 3 and/or work experience or training in a related field. A minimum of 2 years’ of that experience must involve supervisory responsibilities or lead work.
- Valid CDL Driver’s License issued by the state of residence

- 40 Hour Work Week, generally between core hours of 7:30-5:30
