The Front-of-House Support position is a hybrid role that combines the essential functions of the Host, Food Runner, and Busser into a dynamic floor position. As a primary driver of the member experience, you will greet members by name, ensure food is delivered swiftly and accurately from the kitchen, and maintain a polished, inviting dining room throughout service.

Reporting: This position will report to the Food & Beverage Manager, or designee
Duties
Hosting & Member Engagement (30%)
- Warmly greet members and their guests upon arrival, recognizing returning members by name and anticipating seating preferences
- Manage the seating flow across the dining room, patio, and lounge to ensure balanced server workloads
- Track reservations, special dining requests, dietary restrictions, and special occasions using the club's management software
- Present menus, inform members of daily specials, and ensure seamless handoffs to assigned servers
Expediting & Food Delivery (40%)
- Monitor the kitchen pass and work directly with the culinary team to ensure orders match ticket specifications and modification details
- Deliver food promptly while hot, following proper plate-carrying and tray techniques
- Identify dishes accurately as they are served, answering immediate members questions or relaying needs to the server
- Ensure all table condiments, dressings, and accompaniments are delivered before or alongside the meal
Dining Room Upkeep & Table Maintenance (30%)
- Perform pre-service setup and post-service breakdown, including polishing silverware, folding napkins, and stocking service stations
- Monitor tables unobtrusively throughout service to clear completed plates, refill water/beverage glasses, and maintain table cleanliness
- Sanitize and reset tables quickly and quietly according to club standards between member seatings
- Keep service areas, side stations, and floor spaces clean, orderly, and fully stocked
Other
- Answer telephone calls
- Handle basic questions and transfer calls
- Manage carryout orders
Education
High school diploma or GED required
Experience
- Prior experience in FOH restaurant service, hospitality, or customer service preferred (private club or fine-dining experience is a plus)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with members, guests, and teammates
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively during fast-paced peak service windows (e.g., weekend dinners, post-golf tournament rushes)
- Keen eye for cleanliness, dish presentation, and member recognition
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry food trays or bus tubs (up to 30-40 lbs) for the duration of a 6-8 hour shift
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak club seasons

Environmental & Working Conditions
- Temperature variations: Frequent movement between climate-controlled dining areas, hot/humid kitchen pass environments, walk-in coolers, and outdoor dining patios
- Noise levels: Moderate to high noise levels during peak dining hours, banquet events, and inside active kitchen prep/dishwashing areas
- Occupational hazards: Potential exposure to hot plates, warm liquids, sharp cutlery, broken glass, wet/slippery floors, and commercial cleaning chemicals
- Attire & safety: Must adhere to club dress code and wear close-toe, slip-resistant shoes at all times
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
