Duties
- Lead and coordinate daily operations of the animal shelter, including intake, adoption, and veterinary care processes
- Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and other relevant regulations
- Supervise staff training on safety procedures such as First Aid, CPR, Vital Signs monitoring, and emergency response protocols
- Oversee compliance management efforts to meet local, state, and federal standards for animal welfare and facility safety
- Manage community outreach programs to promote responsible pet ownership and foster positive relationships with residents
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper handling of animals
- Maintain detailed records related to animal health, licensing, adoptions, and incident reports with precision and transparency
Skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, volunteers, community partners, and the public
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA safety standards, First Aid procedures, CPR certification, and Vital Signs assessment techniques
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations related to medical records management in veterinary or shelter environments
- Understanding of EPA guidelines concerning environmental safety practices within animal facilities
- Proven ability in compliance management across multiple regulatory domains
- Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on team development and motivation
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly while making quick decisions in emergency scenarios
