Job Overview
Pay starts at $20/hour but is dependent upon experience
We are seeking an attentive & enthusiastic Retail Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn about numismatics, precious metals, jewelry & other collectibles if there is no prior knowledge. They will also demonstrate the ability to effectively navigate challenging customer interactions that can sometimes be a result of evaluations. This role entails learning to evaluate and purchase coins, currency, precious metals, jewelry, sports memorabilia, trading cards and more. It also entails basic cleaning tasks, basic POS & cash handling, customer service and other tasks as assigned. This position requires a proactive individual who can learn quickly and sufficiently in a fast-paced environment. Effective time-management, keen attention to detail & strong math skills are essential to individual & company success. Familiarity with coin collecting & numismatics is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in-person, via phone or email in a friendly and professional manner.
- Process cash transactions & cash reconciliation thoroughly and accurately.
- Possess the ability or gain the ability through training to evaluate coins, currency, bullion, jewelry, sterling silver & various collectibles
- Navigate occasional customer challenges with grace, empathy & decorum.
- Rent, check-in and drive U-Hauls as needed.
- Drive company vehicle for deliveries.
- Merchandise products for the sales floor.
- Perform accurate mathematical equations to calculate precious metal content of items.
- Package items for shipping
- Receive incoming deliveries
- Perform basic cleaning tasks
- Perform other projects as assigned
Availability must be between the hours of 9:30 am - 6:30 pm at least 3 days a week (excluding Sundays).
