We are seeking caring, energetic, and dependable After School Teachers to join our childcare team. If you enjoy working with school-age children and creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment, we'd love to hear from you!
Available Shifts
Applicants must be available to work one of the following schedules:
- 11:45 AM – 6:00 PM (provide coverage for breaks during naptime in various age groups from 12pm-2pm)
- 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of school-age children at all times.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, STEM activities, and outdoor play.
- Assist children with homework and provide academic support when needed.
- Prepare and serve afternoon snacks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Follow all center policies and Georgia Bright from the Start licensing regulations.
- Monitor children's behavior using positive guidance and classroom management techniques.
- Communicate with parents regarding their child's day as needed.
Classroom closing responsibilities
- Sweep classroom floors and vacuum carpets/rugs.
- Mop floors once the room is empty of all children
- Sanitize and disinfect tables and frequently touched surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize toys and manipulatives used throughout the afternoon.
- Empty classroom trash cans and replace liners.
- Clean and sanitize sinks and countertops areas.
- Ensure bathrooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized.
- Organize learning centers and return all materials to their designated locations.
- Restock classroom supplies for the next day.
- Complete daily classroom documentation and incident reports, if applicable.
- Ensure all children's belongings are packed and ready for pickup.
- Check that attendance records and required paperwork are complete.
- Turn off classroom lights and any other electronics.
- Close and secure cabinets and storage areas.
- Report any maintenance concerns, broken equipment, or supply needs to a director before leaving.
- Leave the classroom clean, organized, and fully prepared for the next school day.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare, school, camp, or after-school setting (preferred).
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. (required)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must pass all required background checks. (required)
- CPR and First Aid Certification is preferred (must obtain once hired).
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Must be able to move often and stay active for periods of time.
- Previous experience supporting children with special needs or managing challenging behaviors in a classroom setting (preferred)

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
