Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct preventive maintenance including oil changes, tire service, alignment, and equipment inspections to maximize uptime.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other farm or industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on heavy trucks, trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment with precision.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and warranty requirements.
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Technician or Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and vehicle systems repair.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and electrical system repair techniques.
- Skilled in reading schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery.
- Ability to perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed for repairs or modifications.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
