American Traveler is hiring a Chemo Certified Oncology RN for an outpatient infusion clinic setting, requiring a minimum of 2 years of oncology-specific experience and an active ONS Chemo/Bio certification.

Outpatient ambulatory infusion clinic setting with 10 infusion chairs
-
Hematology and Medical Oncology patient population; adults 18 and older

Patient ratio of 1:5

Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 7:45 AM – 5:15 PM

No weekend requirements

No on-call requirements
-
Floating required between two clinic locations approximately 14 miles apart (20-minute drive)

EMR: Epic (Pyxis, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams also used)

Ambulatory infusion pumps used
-
Pharmacy and mixing techs handle all medication mixing
-
Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact RN license required

Current certifications required: BLS and ONS Chemo/Biotherapy Card

OCN certification preferred

Minimum 2 years of oncology-specific RN experience required

Chemotherapy administration experience required

Central line experience required

License and certifications may be pending at time of consideration

Orientation consists of approximately 8 hours of unit-specific orientation (varies by skill level) plus a full week of hospital orientation; traveler must be available for classes each day

Pre-completion modules are required prior to start and annually; hours vary by specialty

Pre-shift COVID screening required per facility policy

Navy blue scrubs required; not provided by the facility
-
Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
-
No RTO permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved provided it does not fall on a holiday
-
Previous permanent, PRN, or EP employees of the facility's health system must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
-
Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 12 months are strongly preferred; references may be pending at time of consideration but are required prior to start
-
Travel pairs are allowed; each must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
